Betrayal & Relational Healing

Relationship betrayal is an isolating experience, wounding the very essence of trust and cutting to the heart of our most fundamental need for connection, intimacy, and attachment. Even worse, those who suffer betrayal often feel estranged from the very people who would traditionally offer support—friends, family, institutions, and communities. It’s no surprise, then, that victims of betrayal often suffer from complex trauma and/or PTSD. Having worked with addicts and non-addicts alike, I offer a nuanced understanding of the path to healing that betrayed partners face. Whether it’s guiding couples through immediate crisis, the full therapeutic disclosure (FTD) process, separation, or intimacy and sexual reintegration, I can navigate both the pitfalls of betrayal and co-dependence, as well as the healing waters of relational healing, personal empowerment, and autonomy. Most importantly, I won’t settle for returning to the “status quo” of dysfunctional relationships. Rather, I will challenge partners to find their best selves and expect nothing short of the dignity that each deserves.
